There was a firmware upgrade which made it impossible to use non lexmark cartridges, so you may wish to avoid it (if it has not got that installed already), unless you intend to run it with their cartridges

I didn't buy it in this grabbit but have a lexmark all in one and never again.

the cartridges are extortionate, a message comes up when you use non lexmark ones that your warranty is no longer valid as you are using the wrong cartridges. By using non-lexmark ones it doesn't show you the amount of ink left so there are constant messages on my screen saying I need to buy new cartridges. It is also really tempramental and goes through periods where it won't print and won't delete the backed up documents in the printer.

On the plus side, the photocopier bit is quite handy but only on a very low level as it takes ages but ok for doing the odd sheet here and there. It may be a bargain but I have a feeling it is because they can't shift them at full price!

I'd stick with the cheap all in one Epsons in that price bracket tbh you can pick up a 515 or 415 with wireless for that and run them for about 50p-£1 a cart

Well said; we have a Lexmark all-in-one and can't wait for it to finally conk out so we can get a Kodak one.

I must admit when my Lexmark finally packed in I was delighted.

My Lexmark that my hubby bought is under my bed currently as it is a pile of crap:mad: Would NEVER buy a lexmark again.

Worth checking before buying a new Epson all in one. I bought a new one a few months back (SX425W) half price in Sainsburys and it turned out compatible cartridges weren't available. Compatibles have just come out but are pricey at £20 for a set of four. As a result I am currently looking into continuous ink systems!

Yup which is why I recommended the previous generation 415/515 models the 25 series are very very new hence the supply problems with the newer chips

Lexmark cartridge prices put me off buying those. I'd go for a HP-all-in-one, which does the job excellently, and is cost effective.
