Hiya
i need some advice, i had motor insurance with swinton and was involed in an accident and while i reported this accident the 3rd party has been disputing what happened.
My car was a right off (economically) and as it wasnt drivable i bought a new car. I called swinton as i got a good deal with a different provider so they told my i would have to pay £50 as a cancelation fee so i did.
At the start of this year i began recieving texts from CRS about the balance i still owe swinton, i phoned and they told my i must pay nearly £600 in full or as 3 monthly £195 payments as this accident is disputed i must pay the full year of insurance.
i didnt pay at this point but became scared when i was recieving 2 or more texts a day threatening to take legal proceedings. I panicked and have so far payed 2 monthly payments, next one due by monday. As im due my last payment i decided to do some research on CRS and there is alot of negative things about them.
I worked out i paid swinton a deposit of £192 and 6 monthly payments of £96 when i checked my documents the amount payable is about £1150 so i should only owe £384 but CRS are asking my to pay nearly £600
swinton have never contacted me about this just passed the debt on.
please can someone tell me if ive been conned?, i panicked i would have heavies round to take mine and my families things or i would be taken to court and be liable for huge fees.
Also am i able to claim back my cancellation fee from swinton as i have had to pay the remaining balance on my insurance?

plus claim excessDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Thanks for the reply, i checked excess out too and according to my paperwork the only time i pay excess is when claiming for Fire or Theft.
I have also not claimed anything for my car.
do these companies make profit out of debt?
