Photos on canvas?

Hi all
My boyfriend is really into photography, and for xmas I would love to have one of his favourite pics put onto a nice canvas so his work can be immortalised! I have found places online that do this, but it's so expensive. (Been quoted £50 or so!) Does anyone know if boots or any photography shops do this service? Also, would I need a hard copy or just the digital memory card? Thanks in advance!

...it is not of more importance than daily life, which I have an enduring wish to make as useful and beautiful as possible.

Mr newleaf took some fabulous photos of the sun rising over Auckland harbour on our holiday in NZ. We had the best one printed onto canvas by 'photobox' and it is in pride of place over the fireplace - it's fantastic, and unique. I know it's expensive, but they do look really good.
