Horse Riding West Sussex

I haven't been on a horse for years but need to get back in the saddle and gain some confidence, and not look a total banana!, before going to the "Wild West" (won a comp from here!) in September. Haven't been well so trying to get back to fitness and would just like a few (possibly one-on-one sessions) to make me feel excited rather than terrified. (Ideall without loads of "horsey" people experts watching and laughing at me!)
Anyone know of anywhere around West Sussex that is good for this and not too harsh on the wallet?
TIA

This is an oblique thought, but have you been ill enough to make it worth contacting a local group doing riding for the disabled? No idea as to price, just thought of it as I know the manager of the local centre (miles from you!)Signature removed for peace of mind0

Thanks Savvy, but not sure if I've been "ill enough", also don't think there is such a group locally (I may be wrong, please anyone let me know)0

Hi Saskia, I'm in Bognor but willing to travel.0

I believe there is a place near Tesco's in holmbush, Shoreham. Just checked google maps, it's called 'Happy Valley riding school". My sister used to go there years ago. Not sure if it's just for kids/teenagers or for adults as well.
I'll let you research it if you like. I believe it's the 1st left after leaving the roundabout towards tesco/M&S which takes you there.
It's also quite far from Bognor. Depends if your willing to travel THAT far.Thought for the day: each generation of mankind tends to hug the illusion of having reached the culmination of human achievement. Yet, as we scoff at our groping ancestors, so our descendants will surely scoff at us.

Thanks but, guven that ridling lessons aren't cheap to start with, that's a bit too far given the cost of petrol.0

I would also like to know the same in the same area and Surrey, any places anyone knows where it wont cost an arm and a leg to exercise some horses for an hour or so0

My friend who is a full time mum owns her own horse and she does riding lessons at a fraction of the price. Only problem is she's in Brighton. x0
