Nationwide....

I have a 0% visa with Nationwide...runs out in February or March....as at today..my balance was around £2.4/2.5k....and I went into the bank to make a payment of £600.
What was I asked?......'have you considered taking out a loan to pay off your visa card?'
Well, hang on a minute:
Firstly, it's 0% until February/March 2007...so NO
Secondly, I am in here paying £600 off the bloody thing....I should think that says I'm quite confident at paying it off..so again, NO!
....also, I have about £1500 saved up so far to pay off the rest (which she didn't know to be fair)....I know I could transfer it again....but I've had enough of that...I'd rather just get rid of the old debt.....
I know this is their job....but quite frankly, if I was in a job were I felt compelled/pressured to push debt onto people...I'd look for another job...

lol went into the post office the other day to send a ebay parcel and all of the assistants were asking every customer if they wanted a post office credit card. When it came to me I politely told the assistant that I already got one before they started charging a balance transfer fee and that I am using it for the 0% interest free period and that it has alaready been cut up - she said you do right
I know its only their job but at least because of MSE you can be one step ahead :money:

I get asked if i have thought about a loan every time I go to make a payment on card.
I try and say that i would end up with a card and a loan, but I can't get it through to them.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0 -
Hi Chris
You are not alone; these banks are all the same. As you will see from my sig I have a loan with A&L but I am hoping to pay it off early with my annual bonus. Was at home today, off sick. Got a call from A&L...
them: Hi, how are you today.?...
me: got flu actually if you must know....
them: we're just ringing to see how you are getting on with your A&L loan - would you like a "top-up"
me: No, actually, i'm thinking of paying it off early....
them: ah.........well.........if you change your mind...........
i hang up.
Also in the post this morning, credit card cheques from A&L. Rippped them up straight away....but three weeks before Christmas - any coincidence?
