Sorry I Got a Bridge done free and it was 5th year students. My Dentist was looking £2300.00 Ask your Dentist you have to be referred by either Dentist or a Doctor.

By the way Medical students are in HospitalS from year 1 in parts of UK.

No a doctor cannot refer to dental hospital. A dentist can only refer very difficult cases normally with complex problems and even then the dental school can very well not accept the referral. They will , for instance, not accept referrals for bridge treatment , implants (except in very rare cases) multiple crowns , cases referred for financial reasons etc.

You do not need to be referred you can following link above contact the school of dentistry, if you are suitable, for an assessment appointment. That does not guarantee you will get treatment and ,as said before, there are restrictions on timing of appointments.

Brook to Jack are you a Dentist, work for one, the offspring of one or related some other way? - It sounds like it. Maybe different Dentists have different reasons not for referring customers to Queens I.E less money in their pocket.
Call your Dentist on Monday + School of Dentristy and get it checked out. 4th & 5th year students need to work on more than just basics. In fact if your Dentist says no you can't go tell him/her you are going to get 2nd opinion.

Mine wasn't a rare case and I got it done and am £2300 better off.

I'm currently a volunteer. Have had teeth cleaned and scaled, one filling replaced and am going back soon to get impressions taken for bite guards and a bridge to fill a gap for cosmetic purposes. Only had 2 visits so far!
I registered via the link, went for assessment and was accepted. Next visit in 2 weeks
