what size tins?

umm....help...odd request?

long story short...I havent baked in ages, am in urgent need for large quantities of chocolate cake as dissertation is due in soon (read lots of all-nighters to get it done, requiring energy food)...no cake tins at uni...go to buy one...tins in shop labelled according to size in inches as opposed to volume...recipe calls for tins of a certain volume/weight (ie, 2lb)

so...could someone possibly get out a 2lb loaf tin and tell me its height/length/width measurements in inches and/or cm?

also, i realise this next bit is like asking how long is a piece of string...but what kinda size would you think of if a recipe called for 'small baking tin' ? (if it helps, its got about 12oz's total mixture)

many thanks in advance
Hol

    Hi

The 2lb loaf tins I use are from Asda and are approx. 6.5cm tall, 12cm wide and 23 cm long

Maybe what you're planning to bake in the 'small baking tin' could also be baked in the loaf tin ... may save you a bit of money;)

    Hope that helps
