Blonde hair to red!

I have very blonde hair and I want to go red, bright red!
My hair is naturally silver white (prematurely) and I put a slightly warmer blonde colour on it so it looks more baby blonde than silver.
I do not want copper, mahogony (sp) or brownish red, I want fiery red.
I appreciate I will have to colour it quite often to maintain the colour and I wil use a shampoo and conditioner to suit. My hair is in excellent condition, no split ends and I have it trimmed very regularly.
What I want to know is what product to use to get it red!
Then what I want to know next, if I really really really hate it, quickest way to get rid of it! Not necessarily to go as blonde as i am straight away, I can work on that over a length of time.
Thanks.

I was going to do this a few months ago but have been advised to do it over time. I have light blonde hair and desperately want to go the colour of Chezza Cole/Tina O'Brien etc but was warned it could stain my hair, bad if I didnt like it.
Erm pointless post I guess but good luck! x:j:jOur gorgeous baby boy born 2nd May 2011 - 12 days overdue!!:j:j0 -
Why not try a semi-permanent colour, that way you are not commited. I love experimenting, after all its only hair! So far this year I have had mousy hair, elbow length blonde hair extensions, and now an aubergine bob.
I would say try a semi colour, then if you like it go permanent, but be prepared to have it done regularly, and also use colour friendly shampoos. If you are silvery white, then your hair has very little pigment, so the colour will grab.
Dont forget your make up routine will need to change as well."If you see someone without a smile, give them yours.":DMiss Mona, The Best Little *****house in Texas0 -
Something like Manic Panic, or Special FX would give you a bright pure red although you might want to bleach in to a white first??
http://www.manicpanichairdye.co.uk/ or http://www.specialeffectshairdye.co.uk/sfx-colours.html
The are only semis and do fade but can be used repeatedly and won't damage your hair.I'm so boring, my clothes wanna keep someone else warm, someone cooler0 -
I've done this in the past! I tried the bright red schwartzkopf Live XXL, as well as other main stream dye brands, but found that they came out a lot duller than I wanted. The best bright reds I have ever found are by Stargazer: get the one that looks brick red. It comes out a very vivid phone-box red, you won't be disappointed, plus it's only semi-permanent, and doesn't feel like it's damaging your hair. Oooo, and the final bonus about Stargazer products is that they're cruelty free! :money:
EDIT: Oh, and PS, I had bleached my hair before dying it red, but it sounds like yours is probably a lighter purer colour than my was, so I'm sure you'll get fantastic results! Have fun0 -
Hi joesaunt just to let you know i have been all the colours there is at one time or another !! if you dye blonde red you will have to go orange before you can go back blonde ! also semi perminate is easyer to get out but you will still have the orange look for a while ! or you could go a brown then have high lights on it and graualy turn this back to blonde.
if you want the cherel cole look i guess you mean the dark cherry look that shines red? you would need to keep dyeing it the first time it will be bright red but once the colour takes it will get darker. i think loreal recital are realy easy and look realy shiney when on !
be warned though on blonde colour fades realy quickly so i normaly dye once a month !
im sure it will look fab though !!
good luck !!

Thanks Ladies
The colour I am heading for is a "Rhianna" red rsther than a "Cheryl Cole" red.
I was a bit worried abbout what they would say at work, but I was talking to my boss about dying my hair and he said " you should go red" I told him I was a bit concerened to what they would say and he was very surprised and said he thought it would look good :T
So I am off to get some dye, have a glass of wine and then go for it!!
Will letyou all know what happens.
