whats on the credit file answered

Ok the guy I have been helping with his debts applied for his credit file from 3 credit reference agency's. The reason I asked him to apply is I wanted to see what info they held on him as many of his debts are statued barred etc or in default or a CJ has been served.
The info we got was as follows
ON Electrol roll
postcode fine etc

3 court judgments

one which is marked to come off april 2011
one to come off june 2012
one to come off dec 2015

Defaults
5 in total

1 to come off april 20011
2 may 2011
1 june 2011
1 may 2012
No other info on debts are held on the files QUESTION is, if they are not on file then I assume they have dropped off due to age? these are the ones we assume are statue barred, he pays his CJ'S every month .Now we do not want to reply to some letters he receives off capquest , lowell, red, about some of his debts as he is unsure when the last time he paid them and we could be talking that the full 6 years may be coming up over the next few weeks or month , we are aware the statue barred issue means he cant be taken to court etc but they still can ask unless he states he has no intention of paying.
So my other question is how would his file look in 12 months below average good or as bad as it does now surly it will look improved ? and also is it best to wait for another few months before banging a statue barred letter out or should we ignore unless they send a field agent out and tell them then it is statued barred and not going to pay? or does he forget it all and just ignore?. Also if a debt is old how long can a creditor wait before taking him to court capquest are chasing a debt for 4k originally 3k no payment has been made for 4 and 1/2 years the debt is 7 years old but not barred as he made payments up to 4 1/2 years ago but the balance was not going down hence why he stopped.
