hi,
what is the correct thing to do with post from a tenant who recently moved out from a let property (but their post is still arriving)
the post office said to cross out their address and re-post it?
are there any legal repurcussions from this?
the person concerned is in dispute with their tenant and hasnt got a forwarding address as far as I know

I would send it to the landlord/letting agency. I am assumiong your the new tenant, if your the landlord and do not know a forwarding address I would chuck it out after retaining it for a few months (in case the ex tenant calls and asks for any mail).

Return it to sender with the message "No longer at this address" if you're confident that there are no contact details for the ex-tenant. If you can't be bothered to do that, throw it all in the bin0

To be honest, i would just write on it in big letters
'not know at this address' and put it back in the post.
At least whoever posted it will exactly know that the intended recipient has not received it.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0
