Callus on foot

Does anyone know how to remove a callus on the ball of your foot. Someone mentioned the fishy doctor but I really really dont fancy trying that. It can be pretty painful at times and sometimes I do (probably not good) cut away the hard top skin but it just comes back. I have tried the callus remover pads but they didnt work and just burned the surrounding area. Is it another trip to the doctors, just been for my ear lol. Not a fan of going to the doctors at all.

Scrape it off again and buy some shoes with thicker soles.

Its natures way of protecting your joints. (or one in particular) So you need to have more like shock absorber shoes, for want of a better phrase. Its the only way Im afraid.

Yes, high heels have to be for best, the callus is protecting the bone.
The doctor is the wrong person, find a good podiatrist (chiropodist)
They may suggest insoles for your everyday shoes these can redistribute the weight under the foot. I had insoles made and within a couple of weeks I got no more pain under the foot.
If it isnt very bad then just flatter shoes and thicker soles (eg like some of the Clarks and M&S range ) may be adequate.
It is possible to have metatarsal surgery but not advisable unless problem very severe

i have dropped metatarsals on all my joints on one foot so i have five of these calluses (sp) to contend with.
Hotters shoes are comfy and I agree with money lover about having some insoles custom made so that the pressure is taken off that joint.
