Hi all,

As I decided to go for a DMP I have to cancel DD (1st in every month)for a loan and today I have to pay a token payment (£10). Could they ask me any question as 1st is tomorrow? As this is very first time I'm having butterflies in my stomach. :eek: :rolleyes: _pale_ _pale_ _pale_

Fisrt of all welcome to getting your life sorted out !
I am just starting a DMP on Payplan and the advice they give you is what you must stick to. I know how you are feeling as that was me last week doing the same.
First of all cancel the DD and any others that you need to. That puts you in control then.
Secondly make your token payment today..and if they ask any questions you need to say that you simply cannot afford any more this month but wish to make a payment never the less. There is nothing they can do. Honestly.

If you get on and do this you will be fine. Promise

Have you made sure you have a bank account not linked to any of your creditors.

Is your loan is with the bank you bank with they may not let you cancel the DD/SO. If that is the case you are better of changing banks or they might help themselves to your salary. Hopes it makes sense.

My loan is with Lloydstsb and a new bank acc is with Natwest now. I do online banking so I cancel dd online.

Hi there,

First of all I went to take money out from my new bank acc (little confusion there but sorted now), didn't have courage to go and pay over the counter, thought I could do it over the phone. They told me they cannot do it (lack of facilities ???) and have to go (unfortunately) either to the bank or send a cheque. Is it bad if I send a cheque and obviously it'll reach the acc in a few days, so my token payment will be late? What do you think? :rolleyes:

All DDs are cancelled, those apart from a loan payments should be re-arranged shortly.
