Cheeky Driver's or Not?!

I used the road the way it was meant to be used and it's tough luck if they, you or anybody else doesn't like it!
Note this part of the highway code:
134
You should follow the signs and road markings and get into the lane as directed. In congested road conditions do not change lanes unnecessarily. Merging in turn is recommended but only if safe and appropriate when vehicles are travelling at a very low speed, e.g. when approaching road works or a road traffic incident. It is not recommended at high speed.
And I was already in the right hand lane before the "queue".
I have to argue I'm afraid. You continued in the right lane even though it was clear that the right lane was blocked, you must admit that.
You also travelled a fair way after the merge signs, the queue warnings and the arrows on the road.
The other drivers were probably more aware of what was ahead than you were.
What was your comment again?, "oooops" I think?, and admission of error if ever I heard one:D. You have to accept that waiting to the last minute is a poor move, ok if you've made a mistake fair enough, but to drive to the front of the queue when it's clearly marked that your lane is ending is going to enrage other road users;)
The argument will go on forever because there's always that BMW driver, just when you think there's no space left to merge.:DI like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
I only drove up to a point where I could merge, if you notice the drivers before that point all bunched up to stop me merging.... Not a lot of choice really!
Again, not my problem... Im not the one being competitive.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

so by your reckoning we should start queing behind static traffic even though the outside lane is clear for maybe a mile ahead, the merge signs mean merge in by the time your lane is blocked not a mile up the road, if they meant merge in a mile back then why isnt the lane blocked a mile back?Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0 -

Exactly, they were probably locals who felt they were being overtaken as a result of their Britishness in regard to queing. when it happens to you everyday at the same hold up it becomes annoying.
You were perceived being competetive by the others that wouldn't let you in;)
Ask yourself who would come of worst in claim terms when making a late "merge"?, I think you might have 1/2 a dozen independant witnesses siding with the other party:rotfl:.
Anyway, I just saying see it from the other side;);)I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

^^ Well it's not there everyday, maybe once or twice a month and for no apparent reason.....
As for claims? I have the right to merge, the highway code states others should give way to overtaking vehicles.
And... If someone suddenly swerved over to stop me overtaking, they'd come out worse off once the video was released“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Not talking about swerving to be honest just the closing of gaps that you've obviously experienced?
Also, take a look at the guy near the front of the queue in your video, right at the end. I see this alot, takes up a mid position to prevent any further passing. I don't condone that and I have heard of people being prosecuted by the police for deliberately impairing the passage of emergency vehicles, but it shows the level of annoyance that this move can provoke.
Just take care;)I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

^^ oh the little black car? hadn't noticed to be honest!!!
Good job I hadn't noticed else i'd have been tempted to overtake him/her where the chevrons change to broken white lines
Another one, same road some 9 days later.

Not doing your/our argument much good with the comment about potentially overtaking one trying to block you.The video in this link is a really good example of how to merge though.0 -
having viewed these videos [distancing is a bit iffy, Strider....carefully does it]......the important thing is,regardless of the errors or mistakes [or deliberate actions, matters not]...of others, you coped without drama.
I have to say...[not being able to see 'sideways'] I would have more likely joined the left lane a bit earlier, where the spaces were greater....for the sake of the odd minute or two..or taking the 'point' to an extreme...
but then, of all my driving faults that I recognise, the biggest one is doing things that, although correct and lawful, I know are bound to upset others.....
depends whether I'm wanting to change my car at the expense of another's insurance? No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......0 -

Exactly, confrontational driving is to be avoided and as I tried to point out to Strider whilst you have to merge at some point he could have timed it more correctly. Anyway enough from me, signing out of this one;)I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
