[E] Unknown: £50 Lodos HTX100 Home Theatre System - Sainsburys

Picked one of these up yesterday, were going for £79.99 in January, but couldn't resist it at £49.99. Average DVD player (re-branded Hitachi HTDK170), but mine was region-free without hacking and does have audio inputs + downmixer so you can use it for playing PC games through the speakers if you put the unit near the PC. Plays everthing I've thrown at it so far (Region 1 and 2 DVDs, SVCD, SVCD on CD-R and CD-RW, MP3).
140W 5.1 system, very loud in my small flat but very clear. Front 3 satellites magnetically shielded, so not total junk like some I've bought.
Obviously if you're into home theatre then this won't be for you, but if you haven't taken the plunge before or, like me, want a second system, this is a very very good deal indeed at £50.

Does It have coax digital Audio in?, its usually a phono jack on the back0
-
No, it's very basic, only has stereo phono jacks. It has a coax (and indeed optical) out though.0

Sorry to ask such a novice question, but would it be possible to link a digi box (with Audio Out) to this DVD player, to be able to watch tv channels with the sound going through all of the speakers?0
-
Well yes and no... getting the sound out of the surround speakers from any external video source is easy enough, but how it sounds depends on the source. Most programmes will simply have stereo output, if the programme is Dolby Prologic encoded you'll only get it through a SCART connection or connecting the audio out of the digibox to the audio in on the player. Proper 5.1 from an external source is impossible on this player as it doesn't have a digital audio in. That said, that's true of most sub-£100 DVD players.0
