Bidding on a punto at the moment and it has 5 hours to go.
I am winning at the moment with a £410 pound bid, it got relisted and the seller e-mailed me to say he had just MOT it untill nov 07 So i bidded again for it. but he has just e-mailed me to say the tax runs out today and not the end of demember like he has previously stated on his listing but he cannot tax it(even if i give him the money too) as i dont have anywhere to keep it untill i get all the documents in my name, and have no way of getting it home (its illegal to drive it with out tax)
Should i cancel the bid or just hope i get out bidded??

I would cancel it - but you can always claim 'item not as described' if it isn't as is in the listing.
MUCH easier to cancel though!Debt free 4th April 2007.
New house. Bigger mortgage. MFWB after I have my buffer cash in place.0 -
dont think you can cancel a bid yourself with just 5 hours to go...you would have to contact the seller to arrange it....0

I'd try cancelling - although the guy's let you know now about the tax, when you bid you didn't have that info so you'd have to be within your rights not to pay, even if you couldn't cancel and did win. We've bought and sold cars on eBay and there's usually a last-minute bidding war so chances are you'll be outbid, but I'd deffo look into cancelling first. If you can't be a good example, be a dire warning

can't you contact ebay themselves with the messages from the seller and tell them that its not as described?CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J0

cancel it - he basically fibbed whether intentional or not on the description so you are under no obligation to pay for it.0

Its a months tax on a car worth £400 - If it was me I would refund the £10 difference (£110 tax divided by 12, rounded to a £10 note)0 -
the listing does say taxed until end of November 2006, which is today....0

Read e-bay rules its quite straightforward - you are well within your e-bay rights to refuse to pay.0
