BrandAlley- designer brands with at least 50% off

I've been using this site for awhile to buy presents, home decorations etc.

Basically, Brandalley features private sales from home and fashion designers at a discount. The discounts range from around 50% to around 70 or 80%. Different companies have sales at different times but there's a new sale added everyday.

I've found it useful for good quality pots and pans, bath towels were recently on sale for £1 and a well known perfume was reduced from £100 to £30. Delivery can take a little while so if it's something you need quickly you're better off looking elsewhere. I look and buy perfumes, clothes, jewellery and toys in advance to give as presents and it works out a hell of a lot cheaper.

The sales are by invitation only, (they send you an e-mail letting you know which brands are in the sale as they're added) but it's free to register and all they need is your e-mail address.

We know all about Brand Alley on here unfortunately. If you look in the gone but not forgotten bit of the board you'll see what I mean. I was lucky that I got my order last time but not everyone was. In fact the whole thing was a bit of a farce with people not getting things they'd ordered for Christmas gifts.

Sorry if I'm bringing up something which perhaps the majority of forum posters know about. I'm a newbie to the forums and don't have time to go back through all the previous posts on here. Other newbies or people who missed the older thread may now know about the site now anyway.

Delivery can be a bit of a hassel but it does explain this in the "delivery information" tab. Brandalley don't have all the sale items in stock, they wait until the sale is over and then order the exact amount of items needed from which ever brand is having the sale, it then all goes to the BrandAlley warehouse before being picked and sent to customers which is why it's better to buy in advance. I always get in there early and I've never had a problem with it.

I have probably ordered from Brand Alley about 10 times over the past couple of years. The majority of the time I have had no problems and made some good savings. I think you need to be aware that you are likely to be waiting 4 - 6 weeks for delivery and if you are aware of that from the beginning its OK. The Christmas delays were largely due to the fact that there was a 50% off code floating around and they probably had a lot more orders than expected.

I have had one order recently where the whole order was cancelled apart from a 3.95 item and I was not impressed as I was charged postage more than the item value. They held onto 100.00 of my cash for a whole month and I had nothing to show for it. No real apology either so not that impressed. Their customer service could be better.
