Can I get a mortgage with a settled arrangement to pay on a credit card 3 years ago?

Hello,

I am a first time buyer with a decent salary.

Next year my partner and I would like to buy a house. The trouble is I have an arrangement to pay on a credit card on my credit file settled in 2009. Will this affect my ability to get a mortgage?

Any advice would be great.

I would be bitterly disappointed if it means no mortgage until 2015 when it is removed.

Yes it could have a detrimental effect on your mortgage lenders own credit scoring. Impossible for anyone to predict as scoring is reliant on infinite outcome alogorythmic computations done inside software. Will also depend upon how large your deposit is in relation to property value.

So the ONLY honest answer is - suck n see. Good luck.
