I understood that goldfish die in the bowls because the hole at the top for air is smaller than the surface of the water.0

I have a 25 litre tank for my coldwater fish. Our water is very difficult to keep at the correct quality. A friend mentioned that Volvic has just the right qualities for my fish. Since July last year my fish have been fine. (6 white cloud mountain minnows = 1 algae eater)0

Unfortunately, a goldfish bowl (despite the name) is far too small for goldfish and will cause stunted growth and a shortened life span. Plus any tank should be filtered - which will make life easier for you (far less water changes) and much more pleasant for the fish!
Have a wander over to some of the fish forums such as practical fishkeeping or http://www.fishforums.net/ for more info.. you can keep smaller fish in small tanks but whatever you choose - please go for filtered tank rather than a bowl.

You shouldn't keep any fish in a bowl, far too cruel. Although with one possible exception as long as the water is kept clean - Betta (siamese fighting fish)£2 Savers Club 2011 (putting towards a deposit
