Advice Needed

Hi All from a first time user.
Need some advice please. I've had a catalogue for a number of years but stopped using it about 3/4 years ago. My husband lost his job and I just stopped paying it having to deal with everything else, it just fell by the wayside. I just thought i'd receive a default letter and would make small payments to pay off the balance. I never received a default letter, they just kept sending me statements at the time the balance would have been about £250.00 max. Anway i've now got a bill for £750.00 as although ive not ordered any goods they have added on complete care each month for that length of time. I have contacted them and they said their default procedures are 30 days but cannot say why this has never happeneded, they cannot confirm when the last goods were sent as they would need to go to their archives. I've asked them for a full outline of the balance, the date the last goodswere received but they said i would have to pay the full amount. Can anyone help. I know you may be thinking why have i left it for so long, I am a worrier and hate dealing with stuff like this. Bit of an ostrich tendancy and end up in a worse situation that i started

Hi and welcome
You've done the right thing in asking for a breakdown of the account, and information as to when it was last used. Did you ask for this on the phone or in writing?
Is it the creditor who has contacted you or a debt collection agency?A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Hi and thanks for the response it's much appreciated
It's all been done via telephone calls I've started to draft a letter dating the times and people i have spoken to - the thing is they are still adding the Care payment on as they have sent me another statement today. Not sure where to go from here?0 -
O and sorry - it's coming direct from the Creditor - they are just sending me standard non payment letters and also received phone calls from their payments department chasing payments0
