Don't want my bad credit to affect partner!

Hi
Last year I opened a natwest current joint account with my boyfriend to use for household bills. We didn't end up using it as planned and I later discovered that my current bad credit scoring could affect his credit score.
Obviously I don't want to affect him in anyway so we changed the account into a sole account in my name. I have just been on Equifax to look at my file and he is shown as a "financial associate".
I'm bricking it that I have messed up his scoring as well. The account is now only in my name, is there anything I should or can do? i.e. can I update the credit record to show that we are no longer financially linked?
Any advice is appreciated don't want to mess up his life as well as mine!

If you have no joint accounts at all then you can file a 'notice of disassociation' with the credit reference agencies - you'll probably need to do this for all 3 agencies (depending on whether they show you as linked or not).A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0

Hi Tixy
Thanks for quick reply, sorry I am new to this who are the other credit ref agencies and do you think this would be worth while or am I worrying too much?0 -
Experian
Equifax
Callcredit
Depends on what your credit file is like, how 'bad' it is, but I would say yes its probably worthwhile. You can file the notice online for experian, possibly also for equifax.
