Anyone been on that free cruise to Norway yet?

I can't find the thread now but a while back there was a thread offering a free cruise to Norway for the first 200 (or was it 250?) people who applied. I booked for february but I know that some people booked for November so I wondered how they got on. Was there a catch and was it any good?

The free cruise to Norway thread is over on the Grabbit board, and has been moved to 'It's gone but was it any good'. Someone went in November and has reviewed his experience - does not sound too pleasant, I am afraid!

sounds dreadful. The advice is to forget it and not go, read on:

I haven't been, I didn't even apply for the tickets!"If a man says something, but there is no woman to hear him, is he still wrong?"0 -

I went on mine at the weekend, came back on Tuesday. I had a great time, I've been on one before so I knew what to expect. The food on the boat is expensive but I took plenty of food with me so I only had to buy a couple of meals. If you don't drink in the bar you can drink cheap booze from the duty free anywhere else on the boat.
I'd recommend people to go, just remember to either take a lot of food or a lot of money

Well here's what I just said on the other thread:black-saturn wrote:Hmmm considering it's going to cost me £60 for me and OH to get there and another £30 for the B&B the night we come back I don't know if I want to go now or if it's worth it. I'll speak to OH tonight and see what he thinks. he was sick on the Dover to Calais ferry so I'm sure his answer will be no :rotfl:
I'll cancel the B&B if we decide not to go.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040 -

what about the sickness ? !0 -
It wasn't choppy really until the last night, and that was only a bit choppy. I didn't really get any sea sickness until the last morning and that was because I had a stinking hangover, I'd been mixing my drinks quite a lot (we won a bottle of sparkling wine on the bingo and it didn't mix well with the beer and vodka I had already had).Rachie_B wrote:what about the sickness ? !
My girlfriend was a bit more sensible and she was fine all weekend.
On another note, if people are stuck for something to do early in the morning, I'd recommend taking the lift up the mountain, it costs about 50 nok to get up but the view is beautiful.0 -
Well we have decided not to go and we will cancel the B&B too.
Instead were going to look for a good deal here:
