Going direct after broker quote

Surely it should have been posted then??!
Yes but we do not know what timescales the OP is talking about. The OP came online this morning and told us this. It could all have happened yesterday and the post not yet arrived - mine is not normally here by 9:41 in the morning.
So at present the OP has not given anything to demonstrate a breach other than a claim that the broker was evasive about the fee - and we have only heard the OPs' side of the story.
Same point applies to GMS.
The OP also said that other brokers had been unable to help. The value he provides is not in the "easy" legwork it is in knowing where to look.
This is the same principle that says Wayne Rooney can earn ££££ to put the ball in the net at Old Trafford whilst nobody pays me anything to have a kickabout in the park.0 -
Just to be clear. I'm not suggesting the broker has done anything wrong. I'm not trying to wriggle out of anything on any legal technicality. I just want to know if I am acting illegally if I try to bypass the broker and contact the bank directly. Or even if that is not illegal then maybe it is just unacceptable to the bank and they would say thanks but no thanks.
So for the sake of argument let's assume that the broker has done everything right. Could I still deal with the bank directly?0 -
Without knowing the lender and the "problem" most of us can only guess at what might happen if you try to go direct.I am a mortgage broker. It really P***** me off spending time with clients, who then go direct, BUT it also P***** me off when I see brokers apparently taking the P***! I really cannot see any justification for a fee of £2,000.
Unfortunately lenders have absolutely no morals at the moment, and so if you were to go direct they would accept your business without any issue (assuming they accept business direct?) or concern for the broker.I am a mortgage adviser. You should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
