Thanks for all your comments regarding my situation. Considering the bank of England base rate i just feel very unlucky that i'm paying 4.99% I'm trying to save for a wedding at the same time but i guess i'll just have to work a little harder and try and pay off some capital. Why oh why didn't i go onto a tracker mortgage lol
  • It's great that you feel unlucky paying 4.99%. I once paid 16.5%.

I'm coming to the end of a 3 year deal with A&L and they want to put me on 4.99%

I want another fixed but they'll only offer me 4.99 for 2 years. Why on Santander websie do they offer 3 year deals and above yet when I phone they say they're only offering 1 or 2 year deals?

Deals change instantaneuously. Takes time to update web pages.

    Santander robbing us blind!!!

I'm sorry, I cannot see anything on this thread that shows this.
I just happened to notice the other day that Santanders SVR is 4.24% but i am still paying A&L's 4.99%, surely this can't be allowed to happen?

A&L failed and had a higher risk lending book than Santander (or at least Santander could afford the risk that a&l couldnt. So, why should A&L mortgages be at the same cost when you consider the risks that Santander has taken on?

Being offered 3.35% (2 year fix) or 2.09 (2 year tracker) with Santander (A&L).
