Antihistamine Price Shocker At Tesco
Exhortation

I'm not sure if I'm putting this on the right board as I usually only lurk around the mobile phone one. If this is in the wrong place then I'd appreciate it if someone could move it.
Because I have an annual pre-payment card, I normally get my antihistamines on prescription. Due to various things going on, though, I recently ran out of them and, not being able to get to my doctor to pick up my repeat prescription, I decided to just get a packet from Tesco to see me through for a couple of days. The last time I bought a packet can't have been more than a couple of months ago and they were 79p for a pack of 28. Yesterday, I was appalled to find that the same tablets (10mg Loratadine) had shot up in price to £1.49 for just 7. My maths may not be great but I reckon that's a mark-up of just under 755%!!! I'd really like to know how Tesco justify that kind of price hike.

paid £1.01 at boots for their basics range but you only get 70 -
Did you buy a brand or was it the generic drug? Branded tablets are always a lot more expensive0

Found 30 for 50p on Pharmacy First. Bought 10 packs and with postage worked out at 79p per pack. More than happy with that. I really, really would like to know from someone in Tesco how they justify the price increase, though. If I've helped you please show your appreciation by using the "Thanks" button

Because they currently have the branded antihistamines on offer (half price or two for one), they currently work the same as Tesco's own.If I've helped you please show your appreciation by using the "Thanks" button

Because sooner or later they will massivly reduce the price, say something like "90% off" and act like allergy heros making all sorts of claims about being the saviours of the summer, and just like before, people will see the discount above looking at the actual price and just stock up at what is normal price elsewhere.
