Who do I go to? What do I do about my payday loans?

Hello. I only joined here a few days ago and it looks really helpful. This is my first post and I am just wondering if anyone can help me.

I am currently with the CCCS and have 1 credit card and 3 payday loans which I stupidly took out. The CCCS were very good and they put me in a Debt Management Plan with them which I could afford. However a few moths afterwards I stupidly took out more payday loans (I have a gambling problem and became desperate-I know I have been so stupid) and now I am back to square one as the CCCS will terminate my current contract with me if they find out I took additional credit. I have had calls from the payday loan companies who are charging me a lot of interest and threatening me etc. I have also had a lot of calls from people like the money group who say that they can help me but they charge a fee and want me to pay £100 for 2 months to them as a "set up fee" and then only from the third month, money will start going to my crediotrs and they (The money group) will take a certain percentage each month. There are a few companies which have rang me offering to help me this way but it seems weird that I have to pay an initial fee with no money at all going to any of my creditors in the first 2 months. What should I do?

Ignore the fee charging companies - they are evil parasites, seeking to make money from your misfortune.

Tell CCCS what you have done - you'll have to do that eventually, anyway.

Get professional help to overcome your addiction to gambling.

What I do not quite understand is how/why a payday loan company lent you more money. Did none of their performing monkeys even do a rudimentary credit check on you?

You need to sort your gambling problem out ASAP as well as contacting CCCS.

Is there an echo in here? :p
  • Yeah I will have to tell the CCCS eventually I guess. I honestly do not know how I got the payday loans. I'm asuming that they should do credit checks but they just kept lending me money and me being the Idiot I am just kept taking it

I believe that their maxim may be: "Never give a sucker an even break!".
