Are you under your limit on any of these cards?
For example if the card has a 600 limit, but you have 450s worth of debt, phone them and ask them to reduce your limit. Do this on each debt you have.
this will create some "settled" show ups and imprive your credit rating. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
They are all nearly maxxed out tbh, except the Aqua and Vanquis cards, and I need these to live on for the short term.
It it worth doing this for small amounts? I.e. reducing a limit from £500 to £470 etc, on an essentially monthly basis?
Thanks everyone for the support, this really is a great place to keep you motivated!0 -
when you say you need to live on them in the short term what do you mean??
Id say its worth doing at £50 stages. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

Well short of not paying my bills, I need to buy fuel and a few pressies on the card, plus any emergencies... really only essentials though. In Jan I finish paying off my Tesco loan, and thats when I can start really hitting the debt.0

If you can't keep food at home, cos other people will eat it can you keep stuff at work? A loaf of bread, some ham & cheese will do you sandwiches for a week, add on a bit of fruit, nibbles etc & that will still be less than the £3.50 you're spending a day on a big lunch.Total Debt 13th Sept 2006 (exc student loan): £6240.06

Not at the moment, but I will try in the new year, as I'll be moving desk and will have some lockable storage. Could even have tins of soup and the like for ultra-cheap lunches! Great idea thanks!0

I was wondering that too..... are you living to the budget or are you still overspending ? Official DFW Nerd Club Member #37 Debt free Feb 07 :cool:0 -
I expect that Tom has done this budget for us to look at but its not actually "started" Tom am I right there?
Personally I worry as to why you aere using your most expensive cards to see you through this tough point.
how much money have you physically got ( not inc cards)
can you ell things on ebay to bring some cash in? Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

But if you've got spare on a lower interest rate card it might be worth transferring some of the astronomically rated debt to them. BT fees could be a killer there though.
But why are you using the highest interest rate cards to spend on? You're paying interest at the highest rates on these. Really you have to stop spending on cards full stop but if you have to spend use a lower interest rate card!!!
And come along now you're 21 I'm not surprised your Mum won't make you a packed lunch! Can you not make it yourself? At the very least buy a loaf of bread and a packet of cheap supermarket cheese and a bag of cheap basics/value apples and keep them at work. Voila lunch.
