Thanks didi_nodebt - I saw this advertised and wondered if any MSE'ers had been on previous years and could recommend or share tips?

Hi Grownup1, I have been for several of the sales, the last one I went to was good even though i got there very late, bought a few items which were still being sold in shop for full price.

A lot of the items are either sample, end of season or surplus. However they usually have loads of stuff and you will have to go through so much....they are well displayed though, in colours & items...and I think its cash or cheque only...

I went to the sale today so thought I'd post a quick report as it's on for the rest of the weekend.

It's a wee bit hard to find - unsignposted but is in the big Porchester Halls next to the public library. Some kids' clothes but mainly women's. Most garments priced between £20 and £90 but there are some boxes of various items with red and blue labels at 2 for £10.

Many racks of clothes and all kept being refilled so plenty of choice. Nice friendly atmosphere (though strict security - leave bags and coats at coat check desk) and not too crowded today. You can try things on but no refunds or exchanges.

I thought it was worthwhile so hope a few of you get there. There are 3 decent charity shops between Bayswater tube and Porchester Halls too.

Last year, on the last day of the Ghost sale, they had a happy hour sale which was around 1 -2 hours before they closed, where they reduced everything by another 10 / 30 %.

I have just been told they will have the happy hour again this Sunday not quite sure what time, but its usually 1 - 2 hours before they close. :T
