I think the real issue is that the tax breaks that exist with self-employment/owing a limited company are inconsistent with the laws around child maintenance and whilst it clearly affects a significant number of us, by far the majority of NRPs will be on PAYE so the DEO works most of the time.
The other issue for me is the fact that the CSA, HMRC, Companies House, different departments of the HMRC like the VAT people etc. seem unable to work together. There is a ton of evidence in my hands which clearly shows my ex is playing the system, and not in a particularly intelligent way and if computers in these departments talked to each other, they'd have him by now. I have heard it said that the HMRC is reliant on ex partners for information about tax fraud which I can quite believe but I just wish they would join up with the CSA in some kind of systematic way to expose the gaping, huge, enormous gaps in my ex's accounts. I am not number-savvy, but I can see the mess he's in so it should be pretty blatant to someone who does know!0 -
I agree with you, all the computer systems within govt should have a searchable aspect re csa, which in turn would pick up fraud in other areas more promptly. Just seems something so obvious as you say is made so so hard, rediculous, best wishes.0

The good news is that 'future scheme' CSA will involve much closer integration between HMRC and the CSA.0
