Local Wedding Dress Maker

Hi

I have found a really nice wedding dress but it is very expensive. Someone on here mentioned trying a dressmaker, so I was wondering if anyone could suggest a local dressmaker to price for my wedding dress, if I can take some designs to her?

I am based in Lisburn, but don't mind having to travel a bit

Thank

CC

Depends on the album? Is that for a storybook one? They can be horrendously expensive.
I remember doing one album for a couple once that cost me almost 3 grand to complete. It almost took 2 people to lift it - madness!

On the other hand a couple of friends of mine sourced two beautiful albums in the markies sale one year (they were planning for 3 years) and I just supplied the photos storybook style to put in it. They cost them 30 quid each for designer brand leather albums (albeit brown and vertical orientation). It would nearly cost me that now to drive up and down twice to order them then pick them up.
They did pay a ridiculous price though for flowers - due to it being a winter wedding they had to specially flown in from California. You win some you lose some.

One of the best dresses I ever photographed was hand made by a dressmaker for a fraction of what I thought it cost just looking at the photos.

I have a couple of questions:

What were the flowers? I think that flowers in season are the nicest, spring flowers are my favourites... :)

Markies = Marks & Spencer? (just checking) If so, why would you drive to a store to order something when it could be ordered by telephone/online?

The flowers they picked were readily available here spring/summer but their wedding was in December...

Sorry yes, M+S. They were in the sale - so only on display in store.

When ordering a wedding album it can be done over the phone but usually have to go down to the suppliers to pick it up. So add in the initial meeting to discuss albums and the delivery/pickup and you have a couple of journeys there as opposed to happen to walk past and see them on the on sale stall in store.

I like to pick my albums up in person and check them over. They are quite heavy (italian leather) and wouldnt like them to be posted out individually.

I dont know of any dressmakers in Lisburn but I do know an online dressmaker Ive used before that may help. The company is Royale Style and they made a dress for me a few months back which turned out perfectly. They ask you to take a few measurements but its easy, they send you a guide on how to do it. And they have a free quote service so you could just send your picture to them with your measurements and theyll let you know how much it will cost free of charge. You should give it a shot. Emma was very nice and extremely helpful for my dress. Anyways hope that helps. Good luck!!
