Had meeting with CCCS - recommend br - quick question

Hi guys,

Just had my interview with the cccs and they've recommended br. They suggest I speak to their br consultants so will set up a meeting with them next.

One quick question, my rent contribution is £438 a month. I live 30 miles from work, could the OR insist I move closer to work to save on expenses?

Thanks,
Richard.

They may ask the question, would it be about the same amount of money per month to rent in the area you work?

In a word no, they do not have the power to do this.

Could they say then that they'll only give me say £250 towards the rent? I'm not going to be able to rent anything for £438 on my own so I don't think this figure is unreasonable.

They will probably want to see a copy of your joint rental agreement showing the joint rent.

That's not a problem, I can give them all the information they need for that.

As long as it's a fair rent for the area then there should be no problem.

It would cost you more in deposit and moving costs to move closer to work than it currently does in petrol over the year to travel to/from your current home. So it's not really in anyone's interest to even suggest you move at this time.

I wouldn't get credit to get somewhere on my own now anyway, so that would be a problem in itself. Thanks for the info.
