it would be interesting see how you would expect this to work with a lump of galena hanging in your window for example
i think rainbow makers are a great gift... my children have had one for years, it never fails to get them excited when the sun shines on it0 -

She bought me something similar when she was on holiday once, and regretted not getting one for herself. Mine broke easily, and I agree that they are too noisy, and they hardly ever get enough power to work, but still, they're pretty
