    it would be interesting see how you would expect this to work with a lump of galena hanging in your window for example

    i think rainbow makers are a great gift... my children have had one for years, it never fails to get them excited when the sun shines on it

    Absolutely, this has crystals on it, the difference being the solar powered motor which turns the crystals to move the rainbows around the room. That and the price....

    Thanks, my mum will love it.

    She bought me something similar when she was on holiday once, and regretted not getting one for herself. Mine broke easily, and I agree that they are too noisy, and they hardly ever get enough power to work, but still, they're pretty :)
