We have a Scott Am endowment taken out in '89 due to mature in 3 years, we've had red letters for the last 5 or 6 years (might be longer !) Does anybody have a similar plan which has matured recently? We are just wondering what its likely to pay out. We are expecting a shortfall of around £10,000 and have savings to cover this but would prefer not to have use so much of our savings if poss. Am hearing different things about terminal bonuses some people saying they arent even being added at all....! its worrying.

I wouldnt be looking at current maturities to get an idea of what you will get in 3 years. Pre recession, most Scot AM endowments hit target. If the market recovery continues, you would expect the current shortfalls to reduce.
If you want an idea of where you are now then just look at your current position.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Everyones situation is different but for reference my Scottish Amicable Endowment (Pru) taken out to cover £16000 in 1985 for 25 years matured in February this year and paid out £15,500 approx.0
