Umbrella Companies

I need to look into using an umbrella company for myself if I work on a contract basis (in London).

I have received a long list of them from a recruitment agency, can anyone recommend one from personal experience?

It seems, at first glance, difficult to differentiate between them. Does anyone have any feedback on them, their rates, or the relative merits of any one of any other?

I have used Giant, who were variable - very good in some things, hopeless in others and rather bullying towards the end. But my contract was very unusual in being a 3-week all in fee.

Before I used them, I posted a question on this site, and was referred to the small business and charities board, where there are a few other threads about umbrella cos. You might get better help over there, if a mod would move this!
