Newly self-employed and need a mortgage

The house we're offering on is £245,000, which we plan to pay for with £93,000 mortgage, £90,000 equity from our current house and £62,000 cash. We have a good history with our current provider (Leeds) and have overpaid large amounts each year.
My husband has only been self-employed since September but is earning around £41,000 pa. I've been self-employed for 5 years but only earn around £6,000 pa. Will any mortgage lenders consider us in our own right or will we need to call on my parents to act as guarantors? Should we ask my parents to be guarantors anyway - will this get us a better rate?
Advice from brokers/mortgage advisors appreciated! Thanks.
