Sofa covers

We bought a sofa with loose covers just over a year ago. Problem is the covers won't stay put. Admittedly one DS isn't that respectful of sofa but I'm sick and tired of pulling the covers back and tucking them in etc etc..... As a result of the cover coming untucked the seat cushions are always hanging off.
Is this a common problem with this type of sofa or have I just got a rubbish one?
I originally posted this question on the DIY forum but only got a reply from tawnyowls, so I thought I'd ask you Old Stylers. I am so sick of this sofa that I'd love a new one - funds permitting. This one came from Sofa Sofa. Can anyone recommend a decent sofa manufacturer. DFS seem to have cornered the market - but apparently their quality isn't always what it should be either.

I have plenty of willpower - it's won't power I need.

I hope that doesn't mean mine was no use!
I personally have found both my DFS sofas (over a total of 10 years now) very good. Have you tried ebay? Sofas are ridiculously cheap on there, and OK, they may only last you a couple of years, but it's seems to be the case that people get tired of their sofas before they wear out anyway, and you'd be very environmentally friendly! 0 -
Hi u could also try freecycle https://www.freecycle.org i am in need of a sofa and tried there, also ebay, no luck yet though, dont want to pay a fortune as i have young kids:eek:

Have a good grope about:D and you should be able to feel a gap in the sofa frame where the base of the inside arm meets the base that the seat cushions sit on and also where the back meats the base. Years ago you could buy plastic spiky tubes which you pushed into this gap to wedge the covers in place. Anything cylindrical that will fit (at a push) into this space will wedge the covers and you can pop your seat cushions back on top. HTHLife's a beach! Take your shoes off and feel the sand between your toes.0

My last sofa had a tube that was pushed into this gap. It looked like the tube off a vacuum cleaner - the bendy concertina bit if that makes sense. It kept the cover in place. I suppose you could try freecycle for something similar?0 -
