Debts on credit file?

Quick Q - OH has debts - we've done a credit report and it's showing NO debts other than his current mobile phone contract (credit score is "fair")
Does that mean his debts can not be chased?
Thanks

Have you checked with the 3 main agencies, or just 1?0

Not in itself, no.
As said, have you checked all 3 agencies?
Debts may have fallen off the reports if they were defaulted on more than 6 years ago, but that doesn't necessarily make them 'unchaseable'.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Hi - We checked Experian and also Equifax. Neither show any debts0

What sort of debts are you expecting to see?
When are they from, and when were they defaulted?
You also need to make sure that you give a complete list of former addresses for the last 6 years (and preferably a bit beyond) when ordering credit reports. An incomplete address history and/or errors/mismatches in the addresses submitted is a common reason for debts not showing up when they should.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Debts are:
Clode retail finance - Finance on a PC - from 2008
Virgin Media - from 2009
HSBC - Over draft - from 1997
Thats it0 -

Possible that they don't report to the CRAs.
Virgin Media - from 2009
They quite possibly don't. They didn't report one of my old NTL accounts on any credit reports.
HSBC - Over draft - from 1997
If defaulted over 6 years ago, may have dropped off. That's if they ever reported the default in the first place.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

ah maybe.
Would any of these pass as statured barred?
No debt collectors as of yet but we're waiting on it.
OH lived in a shared house when he had the Virgin Media and isnt sure whether it was a joint account (?)
He was paying the finance back until 2008 when the finance company went bust and he didnt know who to pay (he moved a similar time so didnt get any corresspondance)
OH hasnt live in our house long - My ex was in serious debt (£35k!) and i really dont want the hassle so have told him he must sort these0 -
You also need to give them a complete address history, going back as far as you can.
A lot of my debts didn't show until I added my past addresses going back to 2001.0 -
Yes but when applying for credit do they ask for an address further back than 6 years unless for a mortgage ? and I would assume if debts fall off a file after 6 years you would see no debts would you?0
