Skylight Studios - London

I have just won a makeover and photography day for me and 3 friends with Skylight Studio in Oxford Street.

The lady on the phone told me its worth £250 per person however I need to pay £45 deposit per person to confirm booking.

Does anyone know if this is a scam or whether you get your deposit back??

It's not a scam but it is a clever marketing trick.
My partner and I have "won" 3 of these now, we have taken them up on all, it's a great day out if you're near their studio or if you're going that way anyway.
You would get your deposit back unless you want to put it towards a picture.
They WILL spend a lot of time and effort talking you into buying more, so only go if you can either afford to or have an iron will.
The first one I did was just for me and gave me 1 free pic, the second one was me and my partner and we put the deposit up for a pic of us and declined any further pics. They tell you you will only be offered them on the day because they will delete everything straight away, well they're lying because 6months after we did it the second time we got a phonecall offering us all pics for about a tenth of the price we would've paid that day.
Anyway, the 3rd time we thought we'd do the same again and wait for the whole lot to be offered 6months down the line, but then our iron will broke down when they were offering us such "great deals" with a free big sized canvas for "only £86 a month for a year" which sounded ok to us, but then after signing the lot we were told it was £86 EACH per month... so £170 a month for a year... only finished paying it all last month, so never again...

Anyway, this should be a good warning :-) Feel free to take it up if you think you can resist or if you can afford it because it really is a great day out and the photos are truly gorgeous.

    Good luck!
