yesterday whilst looking at an ice cream recipe i had a brainwave
it doesnt happen to often i must admit
:rotfl: after discovering that the main ingredient is custard n cream i tried using one of those 11p tesco custard sachets (the type you add boiling water to) and added some (reduced to 10p) double cream, mushed up a couple of nearly black bananas a little more sugar and mixed it all together, popped it in a plastic container and froze it giving it a mix every hour or so as it froze. today we had it for tea with homemade pear crumble and it was absolutely delishous!! the ice cream cost literally pence to make and it was far nicer than the cheapo stuff i normally buy and theres enough to do another pud:j if i buy the nice expensive ice cream at £3 a shot it normally only does 1 meal for the 3 of us! im now never ever gonna buy ice cream again now i know how easy it is.i might try strawberry or chocolate next time or i might even get adventurous and make my own yoghurt and flavour it then freeze.... wooohooo im on a moneysaving roll :j

to be honest i have been looking at getting an ice cream maker too, theres a disney ice cream maker for £30 but i discovered you need to freeze the bowl before you use it, seemed like alot of messing around when you only need to take it out of the freezer a couple of times to give it a mix the way i did it and less washing up which is always a winner!proper prior planning prevents !!!!!! poor performance!
