Nervous First Time Landlord

I am in the process of buying a house to rent out, as I have never done this before, I was planning on using an agent mostly for peace of mind (getting the legal side right) but as it is dragging on a bit we have been approached by a potential renter. Is it as simple as interviewing them and downloading a standard rental agreement and signing it?
Thanks
Thanks

Just trying to get some advice on DIY renting (this time). The NIHE website does appear to have good information but the 'Landlords' websites area are not - I know they must have difficulty as they cannot give too much away until you pay their respective fees but I would like to know some more about them in advance - I am not inclined to sign up with either of them.
I'll go through the NIHE with a fine tooth comb and see where that takes me.
