bankruptcy here and in France

Hi
My daughter and her husband bought a property on a mortgage in France a few years ago in which they lived but then was subsequently diagnosed with MS and moved back to the UK. They are currently living in rented property in the UK with a fair amount of debt left back in France. Their income here is quite low and they are on a debt management scheme to clear previous UK debts.
My question is if they go bankrupt here in the UK will that also mean they are considered bankrupt in France or, I suppose vice versa?
Any advice gratefully received . . . . .:)

Hi and welcome, I would not have thought that being BR in the UK would have any relevance in France.:pB&SC No. 298
