Oh that's quite interesting.
I always think the polls/questionnaires I get sent for uni students' research must get really skewed participants. Probably from other psychology/sociology students hoping for good karma!
I suppose some of the medical ones which offer payment might be skewed towards people who really need the money. Probably not very good at producing reliable results for the ones about lifestyle/diet.
self selection bias is why I think it's important to have compulsory polls like the census.0 -
Depends on the shopping, and it has to be in short doses - an hour or two max! Food is good, 'cos you get to eat it. DIY shops and garden centres generally good - as long as you have a purpose and haven't been trawling around trying to find the right thing. Clothes can be OK in small doses. Any shopping is horrible if it's busy, or if you don't have a purpose - or are looking for a present and have no inspiration - the internet is best for that sort of shopping though!0

I voted '2' - as a rule I don't 'do' shopping, but there are odd occassions I like it - usually when I have pennies to trawl charity shops/second-hand book shops/flea markets/car boots etc. If we're talking generic shopping centres, clothes or shoe shopping - I hate it, and will always choose online over high street.DFW Nerd no. 884 - Proud to [strike]be dealing with[/strike] have dealt with my debts0

3 – Fun on occasion, but only in small doses
I prefer grocery shopping to clothes shopping. The only shopping I do online are entertainment buys like cds and dvds but I must physically go in store to try on clothes.
I tend to only go clothes shopping when I need to replace something or to buy something occasional eg a new birthday outfit. I can't really shop for shoppings sake on the offchance I will find something nice (many other things I'd rather do!) but then again, I see clothes shopping as a solo pursuit rather than a girly day out (last time I bought something with a friend, I felt hurried and had to return the item because it wasn't suitable for me).Lurker extraordinaire! no. 4950
Food Shopping & Groceries is my favourite board.

I'm a woman, and I voted 1 - I'm a misery in a mall!
I loathe and detest shopping, and only do it when I absolutely have to.
I've never cared for it, and now I'm a wheelchair-user, it's sheer purgatory, specially at busy times.
I refuse point-blank to go into town on a Saturday in December unless I need to collect medication. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
when i was 18 i could shop for a good 6 hours straight, in stillettos, and i loved it. now I'm pushing 40 with two kids and a full time job, i have neither the time nor the inclination (not to mention the money) to go to the shops. i buy my clothes from the supermarket, cos i can't be bothered to go to town. i feel quite sad about that.0

This is a silly quetion as it has no context. I am a man and enjoy shopping for certain things. I don't enjo shopping in a supermarket or for clothes however - so how do I answer this?0

I hate going food shopping with my mum, she dithers. I just wanna get what I want and get out again. Guerilla shopping, if you like!
Also, clothes shopping; I don't mind it on a very rare occassion, but most of the time it's mind-numbingly boring.
I'm another one who refuses to set foot in a (non-food) shop in December. I have my Christmas shopping done well before then because of that very fact and again, only go into grocery store to get exactly what I want.0 -
I'd go window shopping more if...
I could carry a great big chain gun with me and lots of ammunition to deal with the morons, chavs, numpties, muppets and chuggers who try and ruin my day.0 -
depends what i'm buying
food and clothes,i want to go in and get what i need ASAP with no fuss
if itsa new gadget or the like then i'm more interested and happy to spend time0
