Make razor blades last longer

Advice requested from any boffins. I've been looking at this gadget which claims to extend the life of razor blades.

http://pacificshaving.com/edgesaver.html

Now as far as I can see, all this does is dry the blade and coat it with oil - which you could easily do yourself for next to nothing.

If I dry my blade after use then soak in vegetable oil in an airtight box, will this work in much the same way?

With Mach 3 blades at a pound each, it's worth investigating.

Don't know about the oil but my husband always dries his razor blades after use & it seems to help. He just uses the towel though, not a gadget?

Looking to raise some money ;)
  • Good point Shawz but according to the link in the OP, it's not shaving that wears out blades, but simple corrosion...I'd like to have a beard but a. it would be ginger b. women don't seem to like it much and c. I'd have to fart around with trimming the edges etc.
