Im in my 50's and i too noticed over the last 12 months my skin was looking older and it was a hell of a shock  as ive always had good skin I just got up one day and i seemed to have aged over night lol....like you i always used high end skincare and cosmetics but i just cant afford it anymore so I decided to try using Rosehip seed oil as a night treatment a few times a week as ive read so much about it on skincare forums etc and its fab i buy mine from a lady on ebay who makes organic soaps heres the link to the shop i buy it from http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Pamper-Cafe i noticed she hasnt got any on at the mo' but you could try emailing her and ask her to put one on for you i did as there was none on when i wanted to buy some make sure its the one for mature skin (handmade rose facial oil) thats got essential oils in the rose oil its 3.50 + 1.99p&p for 50ml.... another thing ive found is Aldis Wrinkle stop SYN-AKE its 5.99 and i swear by it I had 2 deep lines above my eyebrows, the 11's between the brows also the lines from nose to mouth and this stuff has faded them dramatically I stopped using it last year as it faded them virtually away but have noticed them coming back so bought some on Saturday and have been using it day and night since and the deep lines above my brows have started to fade away...... as for age spots i read in the Daily Mirror a couple of weeks ago on their beauty page about a cream that Boots do that they said was comparable to Cliniques turnaround cream but a lot cheaper its called "fade out" hers a link to the range http://www.boots.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/EndecaSearchListerView?storeId=10052&catalogId=10551&langId=-1&searchTerm=boots%20fade%20away%20cream&t1_N=4294963984%204294888943#container

Hi Kelk
Your suggestions are really encouraging too and rosehip oils eems to be a winner in the ageing battle I will certainly be making use of your lady on ebay.
It is so horrible to wake up like that isn't it? I find it especially depressing as at work they are trying to get rid of anyone older than 35 and the scale seems to be the older you look/are the more they are trying to find a reason to get rid of you. All I want is to age gracefully - and by that I probably mean slowly- so thatI'm not a total prune by the time I retire (debt-free) and go on that cruise Ive alwayspromised myself!debt free 2021 at current DMP rate (probably be in an old peoples home by then)0 -
Thank you girls for all this really helpful stuff - I have been so down about this but felt like a wuss because I wasn't being a hard-core MSE-er and just getting on with it.
I absolutlely love a difficult to find Nuxe cream called Aroma-Vaillance with matrixyl for dry skin. I was getting it online because nowhere outside London seems to carry the brand now although I originally found it in a big branch of Boots. It really moisturised AND seemed to do wonders for the age spots. It was about £26 a pot last time I looked and I have tried others with the so called miracle tri-peptides but whatever is in matrixyl it beats them all.
If you really do know your way around the cosmetic sites then yes please - all offers of help accepted.
It would have to be Nuxe:rotfl:probably the hardest brand to find at a discount so far, for me anyway and I've searched a lot as I would love to try these products after recs on here, I know its not very mse but £26 a pot sounds quite good for this brand, of course depending on how much is in the pot;)I still believe you should try to stick to what you know works for you, I'm having an online shop later so I'll have a look and report back any findings:)Thank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0 -
Just had a quick search of my usual beauty sites, Lookfantastic and Feelunique and the cheapest I can find this product is £35:eek: Lookfantastic have a £5 discount if you are a new customer and free delivery, might be worth a trip to the discount codes board, I'll search some more later:)Thank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0

haha see the ingredients include rose-tree muscat (?) and sweet almond oil. We must be on the right track with the home-made treatments anyway.
***am now very curious to try this cream***0 -
Hi everyone
Yes what an awkward so and so I am but Bronnie could be right with the oil thing. I admit to a typo - it was £36 and not very mse.
I am going to give the rosehip seed oil a try tho' - as a cleanser it must help surely? Will report back on progress asapdebt free 2021 at current DMP rate (probably be in an old peoples home by then)0 -
