Mad done his DTD shop in T's then got home and found there was no bread:eek:

Just took a quick trip down to Waitrose coz I know they reduce their bread at certain times ;)

Had a chat with my mate who is always pestering the guys behind the jump for cheap fish :D(hadn't seen him in weeks due to DTD)

Got to the till (with me 60p odd cheap bread)and the supervisor over rode the transaction and put it through as a goodwill gesture:T:T:T:T:T

I know it's only 60p but...she wasn't to know if I was struggling or not....

Now that's what I call double the difference!!!!! Well done to Waity's:T:T

Do you know how this DTD works ?

Sorry is that sarcasm or a genuine question? If the former, keep on trying...

I was merely observing that even for Tesco, the price per kilo seems excessive. I'm well aware of how the deal works and of course didn't pay £21 for it.

I tried to tempt my Mum today by saying she go to Tesco and I write her a special list that will cost very little. She went to Sainsburys instead - she likes Sainsburys the best - and wasn't really intested in my list. It is quite strange how some people are not interested in some great bargains.

Sorry to post your whole post but it sounds yum. I do have a question or two, if you don't use wine - does that make much difference? And if you are filling it up half way with liquid, does it still roast or sort of half roast/half stew??

not trying to jump on the bandwagon but you can use water. I like cooking my lamb in a large casserole dish with a lid, I use about half a pint of water or wine, rest the lamb on top of some rosemary and garlic and I smother my lamb in redcurrant sauce......even better if you have a bit of red wine! I promise you, you will never roast lamb again, this is like stewing it and the meat just falls off the bone....literally. I leave mine on at gas mark 2 or 3 for about 5/6 hours.

    PS
Wine and kids go very well together....they sleep for days!

Seriously though, the cooking burns the alcohol...it will not get them drunk.
