Here's a post I made last night. Any other plonkers, like me, around? :rotfl:

I felt a bit of a plonker the other day. I had chatted nervously away to the SA whilst putting my shopping through, and when I gave her the voucher and she was checking it I waffled on about how I had only used the dtd thing a few times and had only got pennies back before, and wasnt I now lucky with this £20 voucher.
As I left the store I realised why she had given me this odd look. My previous receipt showed the use of a £20 voucher on my last shop. Couldnt look more guilty if tried.
Next time must remember to keep mouth shut.
Please God, help me stop spending!

Sorry to hear you only have 5 now.

I am not making any judgements on people here, simply saying that I find having children, is as much a financial decision, as anything else, if not more so than anything else. I have 2 and I simply could not afford to support any more and give them the things in life, that I think they deserve. Hence, I have not had any more and use good planning, to ensure that we do not have more.

Surely it is good family planning to keep your offspring to a level, to which you are financially able to meet their demands?

Its also good family planning to try and ensure your children are not surrounded by bigotry, so where will you live?

does tesco have a age in which you can use vouchers, would my 12yr old be able to get 1 basket and i get another?
    thanks

Don't know about a whole basket, but my (only just) 10yr old bought herself some stuff and has been using the vouchers to buy more. She even checks the ss to look for things she'd like! :rotfl:

When I went to spend my voucher yesterday the young SA looked at it, scanned it, and then signed it!
It is worrying how many SAs don't know the process for what was supposed to be such a big promotion. Or did no-one read the Memo from Head Office?

She said 'Got to sign it to stop anyone using it again'.
Who on earth is likely to use it when its in their till?

I haven't worked in back-office retail, but would think that they are treated like cheques and logged when the till drawers are emptied, so that would be very risky (visions of that film where the ladies worked in the factory responsible for sorting bank notes and supposed to securely destroy, but kept sneaking them wads out in their underwear!). I would think that the cameras around the checkout areas are as much to keep an eye on staff as customers.

It was me and it was horrible, they turned out flat and sweet like little biscuits, but I do remember someone saying they did it and it was fine, I'm sure you have enough to do a test run:rotfl:

Just to lower the tone of this noble and educational debate, younger members of MSE may not recall Johnny and Fanny Craddock who were the cookery Beckhams of their day. On one memorable occasion, after Fanny had prepared some pancakes from scratch, Johnny uttered the immortal words:

'And if you're baking pancakes today I hope they turn out like fannys..................'
"If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools"
