    OMG hope everybodies ok :(

The accident is pretty bad... there is a very mashed Ford KA with a girl trapped in it... the fire brigade are cutting her out and her poor Dad came running down the road just as I got out there :( They still haven't got her out :( It is a horrendous junction and I still can't believe I've avoided accidents in the last 10 years I've lived here... something needs to be done. Have to assume the other car was speeding as I don't think a car travelling within the 40mph speed limit could have caused that much damage. Sorry to post off topic but I'm home alone and I'm shaking! Still can't believe I didn't respond to the noise I heard and go to help but I guess I'd be up and down to the window every few minutes if I responded to every bad sounding noise. Luckily we live next door to the fire/ambulance station so I presume they would have been on scene wiothin a minute.

I still have 3 vouchers from Monday that are 'processing'. Anyone have any idea when I should give up hope?:o

You just have to re-enter but if you get this:

"We're really sorry. Unfortunately we cannot locate your receipt details on this occasion in order to price check your shopping. This problem only affects a small number of customer shops, and we?re really sorry that this has happened to you.
Please accept our apologies, and hopefully you will be able to check your next shop at Tesco."

I wrote to Uncle Philip - His troll came back with this :-

Thank you for your email to Philip Clarke our Chief Executive, to which I have been asked to respond. I was concerned to learn that you have experienced some problems, whilst attempting to use our Price Check website. I appreciate why you would be unhappy and I apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Regrettably, whilst our system is as comprehensive as possible, there are some rare occasions where we are unable to find the receipt details. This is unfortunate and I am very sorry that you have been disappointed. However, I am sorry to say that if your receipt is not recoverable by our system, that we will be unable to conduct a comparison in this instance. I am sorry that you have not been able to compare the attached receipts. I will log your complaint and ensure that it is available for the relevant departments to view. Thank you once again for bringing this matter to the attention of our Chief Executive's Office. I am very sorry that I cannot assist you any further.

Its not good to me, basically all they saying is tough! So I loose out £20 dtd receipt for 3/4/11 shop.
RIP my dear dear parent : Mum aged 62 (17/5/1990) & Dad aged 89 (23/1/2012)

    Attention please :D

My pork leg came back great but I'm seeing that some people's haven't. Can a couple of people please post their barcode numbers of the TESCO FRESH PORK LARGE LEG JOINT (price per kg) 5.98 2.87 and say if it worked or not for you, so we can see if it is barcode specific like the beef please.

    Mine worked, barcode = 0 232346 008758

    Thanks guys.

    My barcode is = 0 240919 008463 - £5.98 per kg This one didn't work :(

I bought a leg that weighed 1.414 and cost £8.46 in total.
Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,
Nothing is going to get better. It's not.

  • I don't see why people are arguing, or getting upset over pennies in a DTD that went wrong.

    General Routine

Each day i check the spreadsheet (and thanks so much for the hard work that goes into this). I look for things that i might normally buy or need and highlight these (I don't really want a cupboard full of snacks and treats i will never eat!), particularly if DTD is equal to the value of the product, or even pays me to purchase. I then check that product on the asda website. If the prices match up, i write down the item on a piece of paper, along with asda price, tesco price. I also write the DTD value on the right hand margin, as this allows simple totaling up over numbers to get as near to £20 as possible.

I then do my additional shop as normal. Yes a few items here or there will be cheaper than asda, so remove some pennies (yes pennies!) from the new voucher. Generally if you avoid the offers, it should never be more than a few pence.

I thought it was common knowledge that asda is cheaper on products, but tesco is better on offers. That's why when my parents do a £100 shop every few weeks, they find the shop is cheaper than at asda (being promotion savvy). Of course this is what the DTD offer is for, for the average customer who will buy a mixture of promotional and normal goods. Also for all those incensed at Tesco being 'rip off merchants' remember the main 'deals' on hear where there is the most DTD to gain, is where there was a multibuy offer. ie 1L Vodka £20, buy 2 for £26.

    Fair Use Policy

The fair use policy is clear on the tesco website. 10 vouchers per month per house hold, and redeeming 1 per day. Don't be surprised, or upset, if in future certain stores start clamping down and refuse your vouchers, as they are allowed by terms of the fair use policy

    DTD Value

Remember, a £20 voucher isn't £20 saved - it's £10 saved. It's double the difference, so £10 difference between spending at Tesco or Asda.

The best way to look at money saved is to remove the value of the voucher off the shop you just did. Ie i spent £26 and got a £20 vouchers, therefore, for £6 I got x amount of shopping.

I want to thank every one working on the SS. I use SS as guide to make my list on a paper, then check tesco & asda website.

thank you to all once again.

Is it possible to make multiple lists though :)_. I got the hang of it now and to be honest is better than a pen and paper fag packet list... allows me to double check asda website quickly per item i've decided to get before i go. Great tool, thanks alot.

Do you mean different lists you can swap between during one shop? Maybe if you're splitting the shopping to pay with more than one voucher? I never do this because I'm always on my own shopping but I should be able to add this.
