R and R at Peacocks???

Hi, Have just got back from a shopping trip and am not too pleased. Got a few bits in Peacocks, mainly because of the offers they had, afraid paid no attention at the till when i paid but have just realised whilest unpacking my items i got with a HUGE red sticker on telling me it's now 50% off (not up to as some other stickers said on other items) i haven't been discounted correctly, in one case there is no discount at all:eek: , even though the item clearly states 50% off, i paid full price. I most definately will be going back in, but it's a pain i can do without, have no transport etc....

So do i demand to keep the items with a full refund???
or accept the deductions and take the overpayment back on my card????

If you can help asap as i want to go back today (while i'm still mad!!!!!)

Thanks folks!!

  • I would take it back, recheck the item in store to make sure it's definitely reduced and then calmly take it to the till and explain.

I sincerely doubt that they would offer you the item and a full refund. Only Tesco's do that!

To be fair, it might be a honest mistake. This has happened to me many times.

ye, they are not obligated by law to give you a full refund but if it clearly states it should have been a lower price then you paid then they are obligated to refund difference.
  • Well i was gonna buy a top which had a sale sticker on it. When they put it through the till it came up more than the sale price. I told the cashier the mistake, oh they have the wrong price on it. I said but there is a whole load of them with the sale price on them. Our mistake , was the kind of reply i got. I hate making a scene as am shy. So i just left it. But i went the next week, they still had the same tops with the same sale stickers on it.
Another time i purchased a fleece blanket, again had a red sale sticker on it
when i went through the till a diff price came up. But this time she manually changed it on the till.

  • While stores don't have to honour "mis-prices" as it were they do have to try to ensure that the incorrect pricing is removed! If its still labeled wrongly after a reasonable time its against trading standards. *nods*
