;)Please could someone help me with my query,
I am about six weeks away from AD. I read on a few threads that people had recieved a letter from there OR saying they had applied to be released as Trustees. I have not recieved a letter like this yet. My case was put to RTLU quite a few months ago. I have had no communication from them since. Does everyone get this letter before discharge?
Many thanks

No, not always. Depends on the workload of your OR's office.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0

discharge and release are 2 entirely different things, either one could happen first or both at the same timeHi, im Debtinfo, i am an ex insolvency examiner and over the years have personally dealt with thousands of bankruptcy cases.

            Thank you for your replies.
Could you explain please the difference in Discharge and Release.
I thought that once you were discharged you did not have to notify any changes to OR, so if you changed address after discharge how would they know where to send release letter to.
Im confused:eek:0 -
Discharge is when your liability for debts is wiped and when you are released from the restrictions of bankruptcy.
the OR being released as trustee is when they have finished their job in dealing with the assets, liabilities and enquiries of the bankruptcy, this continues until all these matters have been completed no matter how long that takes. You have a duty to help the OR with any bankruptcy matters until they have finished no matter how long takes, you dont have to tell them about new matters that arise later after discharge unless they specifically relate to a bankruptcy matterHi, im Debtinfo, i am an ex insolvency examiner and over the years have personally dealt with thousands of bankruptcy cases.

            Thanks for the replies.
Could I just clarify that after AD if I chose to move, would I still have to notify OR, or am I free to go about my life. If I have to notify them, how many years for?
Thanks again0 -
there is no specific requirement to tell them where you have moved to, just that you continue to help where necessary with any remaining bankruptcy mattersHi, im Debtinfo, i am an ex insolvency examiner and over the years have personally dealt with thousands of bankruptcy cases.
