Selling old clothes - car boot maybe?

Hi everyone,
Read the forum regularly but my first post so here goes.
Myself and my other half have lost a lot of weight recently and we were going to try selling them to make some money to put towards buying new clothes.
Does anyone have any suggestions where the best place to sell these clothes might be? Are there any shops that would buy them or are we best to go to a car boot sale? Any advice would be appreciated - dont think I could be bothered selling them individually on ebay but too good to keep.
Many thanks,
R

Hi Pretani,
I would gladly give them to family or friends if they could use them - mine are size 24+, partners size 44" waist/3xl plus - not something we were proud off but hope we have turned the corner.

You get absoloute buttons for your clothes at the used clothing places! Give them to a charity shop, sell bundles on ebay, try gumtree or the carboots if you want to sell - there is a facebook page on car boots in NI
Well done on loosing all that weight - any tips you want to share?DJWW - cos we won't let it!0 -
Rosie,
Having relatives in Antrim, they have done clear outs in the past few months and have said there is a shop in junction one, which will buy your unwanted items by weight value, and they have been paid up to £70 for 4-5 black bags?DFW'ers photography comp member no. 60 -

Thanks Smokie - will certainly follow some of those ideas up. Hubby and i needed a lifestyle change and since the start oft he new year we have been changing all our old habits - cut down on carbs (bread out completely), cut down on takeaways - only an occasional treat and a brisk walk most evenings (not far at the start but now longer and starting to enjoy). Its not easy but its certainly worth it - have lost 7st between us and determined to keep going0 -
Well done to you guys for loosing the weight and feeling fab I am sure
I could do with doing the same!
Clothes are not that good a seller at carboots, unless you are selling them for pennies. If you had good brands then you could hold onto them and wait for a 'free listing' day on EBAY to save you the advertising fee. I agree with the other opinions, in that if you had loads of clothes then take them to the recycle place to get some money for them. Alternatively you could place them on www.ilovefreegle.org which is a recycle site and there are groups all over NI. If you place an ad there for free then someone who may need them will reply and make some use of them. You would then not have to carry the bags yourself as the person would collect them from you. Just an idea.:beer:0 -
rosie c - wow, that is incredible weight loss, well done!!!!
Re the clothes, my advice would be to sell the more expensive stuff on eBay (some brands, such as Monsoon, Gap, Laura Ashley etc, hold their value well) and give the rest to a charity shop/sell it as a bundle to a 2nd hand clothes place.Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs
Save £180,000 by 31 Dec 2020! 2011: £54,342 * 2012: £62,200 * 2013: £74,127 * 2014: £84,839 * 2015: £95,207 * 2016: £109,122 * 2017: £121,733 * 2018: £136,565 * 2019: £161,957 * 2020: £197,685
