disappeared from credit report??

every so often i check the £2 report from Equifax and i had a default from capital one on it from 2009.
It incorrectly said there was still an outstanding balance on it for the past year of £171 when this was settled last march and i had a letter from capquest to say so.
I sent this to Capital One the end of February and asked them to amend my credit report to show as settled instead of defaulted but now, when i get a new credit report, it has disappeared altogether.
Any ideas? Im really confused

Why are you worried about a mistake from which you may benefit?0

haha, yeah i know what you mean, im not exactly going to call them and put it back on again but can they put it back on at any time?0

I would not have expected so, as reinstating the default (even now marked as "settled") would or could have an adverse effect on you and hence could contravene the Data Protection Act 1998.
Under section 159 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974, you do have the right to have inaccurate data amended or removed.0 -
thanks culex, so basically, im not very clued up, it cant be put back on?0

I'd not say that it cannot reappear, but it certainly should not.0
